Regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Public Comment Periods Begin

March 08, 2024

The Public Comment Period for the Draft 2025 Regional Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) is ongoing from March through June 2024. Each region has a 30-day Public Comment Period in which the Draft Regional TIP will be available for review. The 24 Regional TIPs and two statewide TIPs will be combined to create the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Visit our TIP Map to see when your region’s comment period begins!

Aviation Leaders Committed to the Advancement of PA Aviation Strategic Plan

In 2022, the TAC completed a first-ever Pennsylvania Aviation System Strategic Investment Plan that defined critical issues facing our aviation mode, including increasing investment in aviation infrastructure, workforce development, and emerging technology. Reductions or total loss of commercial air service in specific PA communities is also a significant concern, given its major implications on our local economies.

Get Involved in Your Region’s Transportation!

Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations (MPOs and RPOs) are local planning organizations responsible for regional planning and programming for all modes of transportation. MPOs and RPOs work closely with PennDOT on local and statewide transportation matters, evaluate the performance of regional transportation systems, and determine the required resources to maintain, improve, and expand regional transportation facilities. Pennsylvania has 23 MPOs and RPOs, and one independent county.

Public Participation Opportunities

Your participation and input are important! There are many opportunities for you to get involved and voice your opinion.

To report an immediate state-owned road condition or safety concern, please submit your concern online at the customer care center or call 1-800-FIX-ROAD. The official public comment period for the 2025 12-Year Program update ended on April 30. The survey information received outside of the comment period will be shared monthly with PennDOT district offices and the Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations.
